History of Neighbors 1st Federal Credit Union
Neighbors 1st Federal Credit Union began as Frick Federal Credit Union in May, 1968, for the benefit of the Frick Company employees and their families.
The Credit Union offices were located in the basement of the Frick Office Building, until a fire destroyed the building in November, 1988. Our "small and cozy" office then moved into our current offices at the corner of CV Avenue and King Street.
We are now a Community Credit Union and have been since July, 2003. This means that anyone who lives, works, worships, or does business in Franklin County, PA can become a member. A growing membership allows the Credit Union to enhance our current services, and to offer new services while holding on to our "small and cozy" roots which makes all members feel welcome.
The Credit Union has grown from 5 charter members in 1968 to nearly 2000 members as of 10/09. Our services have grown as well: in 1968, we had share savings accounts, and offered signature loans of a maximum of $400.00. We now offer basic share savings accounts as well as money management accounts and a variety of savings products. Loan types include Signature, Vehicle, Home Equity , Recreational Vehicles, Line of Credit and Share Secured Loans. We offer VISA Credit Cards; and VISA Check Cards for our no-fee, no-minimum checking accounts. Our Term Share Certificate Rates are competitive with all financial institutions in our area.
